Real Madrid attacker Asensio happy to score in victory over Eibar | OneFootball

Real Madrid attacker Marco Asensio was happy to score in their 2-0 defeat of Eibar.

Asensio has now scored three goals in three games for Real Madrid.

He said, "We knew that this match was important for us. We had to get off to a winning start to gain confidence and that's what we did. We played well and collected the three points.

“We had the chances to put the game beyond them. We created a lot and weren't troubled too much in general. We've got a big week ahead of us. It was really important to get the win today. Now we have to focus on the tie against Liverpool and then Barcelona. They're both demanding fixtures and we have to make sure we put in the performances required by Real Madrid."

Asensio also said: “That's what I train for. You have to wait for your opportunity and take it when it comes – the goals are the reward. Before they would come back off the post or they wouldn't go in. I'm pleased with the goals and also to have helped the team. Now we have to keep working hard as we've come to the most important period of the season. It's all part of the process. I'm feeling good and I'm sure we'll see even better games and more goals."
