In a recent tweet, renowned journalist ESPN Argentina’s Martin Costa claimed that Real Madrid are monitoring Boca Juniors defender Aaron Anselmino. It has been stated that Los Blancos are keeping tabs on the Argentine central defender this summer.

Anselmino’s Impressive Rise In Argentine Football

Anselmino has come through the youth ranks of the Argentine club and has done well to break out as a first-team starter for them recently. The 18-year-old has already made seven appearances for Boca Juniors this season but has failed to score or assist a goal for them so far on all fronts.

The Argentine youngster has caught the eye with his performances at the heart of Boca Juniors’ backline. He is currently amongst the best young players in Argentine football. His current contract at the Argentine club will run at the end of 2028.

Thus, it won’t be easy for Real Madrid to sign him on the cheap in this calendar year. Still, there is no denying that Anselmino would be a great signing for them in the long run.

Real Madrid Are Monitoring Anselmino: Is He A Prospect For The Future?

Anselmino is a decent tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to secure the ball back for his team on the defensive third of the pitch. He usually puts his foot through the ball when needed and is proficient at playing his way out from the back.

Standing at 1.86m, Anselmino can use his strong frame to dominate the opposition attackers in the air. However, he is still quite inexperienced at the highest level and would need time to prove himself in top-flight football.

Still, Real Madrid would be wise to move in for Anselmino this summer as he has the potential to become a future star in European football. Furthermore, Carlo Ancelotti has got the experience to oversee the young defender’s development and unlock the best out of him in the coming years.

At 18, Anselmino is undeniably a prospect to watch out for in the future. Hence, Los Blancos should try everything they can to lure him to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in the upcoming transfer period.
