In a recent report, Marca stated that Real Madrid are eyeing a move for Getafe keeper David Soria. It has been claimed that Los Blancos are hoping to acquire the services of the Spanish custodian in this off-season.

Soria’s Impressive Form For Getafe This Season

Soria has enjoyed a solid campaign in La Liga after he put in a series of impressive displays in goal for Getafe over the past ten months. The 30-year-old has conceded 45 goals and secured 14 clean sheets in 39 matches for the Spanish club this season across all fronts.

The Madrid-born talent has done well to average 0.9 clearances and 11.1 long balls per 90 minutes in La Liga. However, he needs to find a way to improve his ball distribution after completing only 49.7% of his attempted passes in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).

At the moment, Soria is enjoying his football at Gefafe. However, he could welcome a move to a top club like Real Madrid this summer in search of some success at the highest level.

Is Soria A Good Choice For Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti?

Soria has got decent reflexes that help him pull off a few impressive saves at the back. He is a good handler of the ball as well and can get a lot of distance with his clearances and goal-kicks. Standing at 1.92m, the gifted keeper is a towering presence inside his penalty area. However, the Spanish talent has to find a way to improve his passing accuracy if he wants to be a success story at Real Madrid in the future.

Soria is good enough to serve as an ideal understudy to Thibaut Courtois at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in the coming seasons. He would also be a good replacement for Andriy Lunin who is expected to part ways with Los Blancos this summer.

At 30, Soria has still got plenty of football left in him. He has got a wealth of top-flight experience under his belt and won’t take much time to settle into life at the Madrid club. Hence, the Spaniard will be a decent choice for Carlo Ancelotti to consider during this summer transfer period as he would help Real Madrid challenge across all competitions next season.
