In a recent report, Mundo Deportivo claimed that Real Madrid are eyeing a move for Nottingham Forest defender Murillo. It has been mentioned that Los Blancos are eager to secure the services of the Brazilian centre-back this summer.

Murillo’s Impressive Form At The City Ground

Murillo is having a solid campaign at the Midlands club as he has managed to put in a series of impressive performances at the heart of their backline. The Brazilian youngster has made 31 appearances for Nottingham this season, securing two assists on all fronts.

The 21-year-old has been a rock at the back and deserves a ton of credit for averaging 1.5 tackles, 1.1 interceptions and 5.7 clearances per game in Premier League football. He has even distributed possession relatively well from inside his half after making 77.9% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).

His current contract at the English club will expire in the summer of 2028. Hence, it won’t be easy for Real Madrid to get a deal done for him on the cheap.

Is Murillo A Good Option For Real Madrid?

Murillo is a tough-tackling defender who can read the danger well to earn the ball back for his team on the defensive end of the field. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when needed and can even play his way out from the back.

The Brazilian talent is currently enjoying his football at Nottingham. However, he is still quite inexperienced at the highest level and might need some time to adjust to life at a top club like Real Madrid.

Murillo would add more quality and depth to Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti’s defence. At 21, the Brazilian sensation has got the potential to be a future star in European football. Therefore, Los Blancos would be wise to move in for him as he would be an excellent option for them to consider in the long run.

the Madrid giants should try everything they can to lure Murillo to the Spanish capital at the end of this campaign.
