In a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Real Madrid are big admirers of Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez. It is believed that Los Blancos have identified the Argentine midfield ace as a target for this summer transfer period.
Fernandez enjoyed a decent run of form at the West London club in the previous campaign when he put in a series of impressive displays for them at the centre of the park. The Argentine talent featured in 53 matches for Chelsea last season, netting nine goals and earning 17 assists across all fronts.
The 24-year-old offered solid protection for his teammates at the back as he made 65 tackles, 43 blocks and 13 interceptions in the Premier League. He even distributed the ball accurately from midfield after completing 79.9% of his attempted passes in top-flight football (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at Stamford Bridge will expire in the summer of 2032. Hence, Los Blancos would have to make a big offer if they are to stand a chance of recruiting Fernandez this off-season.

Fernandez is an energetic presence at the centre of the park and can time his challenges well to secure the ball back for his side inside his half. He doesn’t mind clearing his lines when the opposition are on the offensive.
The Argentina international can shoot the ball with power from long range and has got the vision to create a few inviting chances for his teammates in the final third. He is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also fill in as a defensive midfielder or as an attacking midfielder if required.
We can expect Fernandez to add more energy and dynamism to Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso’s midfield. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at the Madrid club in the coming seasons.
At 24, Fernandez has still got a lot of room to grow as a footballer. Hence, he would be a great fit for Los Blancos’ needs in the long run. All in all, Alonso would be wise to move in for Fernandez before the end of this transfer window.
