La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Sunday announced a fresh departure from the club’s midfield ranks.
The player in question? Nico Paz.
The name of youngster Paz has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Spain’s capital across the week to date.
This comes after word was forthcoming that the Argentine youth international was on the verge of an exit.
In the knowledge that his path to regular first-team minutes under Carlo Ancelotti was a complicated one with a view to the season ahead, Paz, still just 19, opted to seek out senior football elsewhere.
Serie A newcomers Como, in turn, positioned themselves as the immediate frontrunners for his signature, opening negotiations with their counterparts at the Santiago Bernabéu over the terms of a deal.
And, as alluded to above, on Sunday, precisely as much has been reached.
As per a statement across Real Madrid’s website and social media platforms, Paz has linked up with Cesc Fàbregas’ Como on a permanent basis:
‘Real Madrid C. F. and Como 1907 have reached an agreement on the transfer of our player Nico Paz. Real Madrid would like to wish him and his family the best of luck in this new stage of his life.’
