Rennes president Nicolas Holveck has reiterated that highly-sought-after 17-year-old defensive midfielder Eduardo Camavinga will not leave the club this summer.
Camavinga is one of the most valuable teenagers in world football following his incredible season with the Ligue 1 club, where he established himself as one of the best number sixes in France.
Real Madrid was most keen to land Camavinga this summer, with Bayern Munich and PSG also very much in the mix.
“To be honest, there’s nothing with Bayern. I don’t think you should get your hopes up about this [upcoming] market,” Holveck told RMC Sport.
“The bigger a club is, the more they’ve suffered from the crisis and therefore don’t expect any big signings this summer.
“If we are lucky enough to get into the Champions League positions directly, that will improve our chances in the market. If not, in no case will players leave.”
After Camavinga made 36 appearances in all competitions this season, Rennes was rumoured to be seeking a fee anywhere from €50m to €80m this summer.
