Real Madrid are pushing to sign Liverpool and England right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold on a free transfer in the summer of 2025.

The 26-year-old defender is one of the Merengues’ top targets for next year and there is growing confidence within the club that he will arrive at the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer once his contract at Liverpool expires.

Contract already prepared

Indeed, Cadena SER (h/t SPORT) reports that Real Madrid already have the contract ready for Trent Alexander-Arnold, awaiting the player’s signature.

The Liverpool ace will be able to negotiate with the club of his desire starting tomorrow, January 1, as he enters the final six months of his deal and Los Blancos intend to close the signing as soon as possible.

As such, Real Madrid have prepared a four-year contract for Alexander-Arnold, which would be signed this summer.

Interestingly, the report adds that Florentino Perez & co. have a four-and-a-half-year deal prepared for the Englishman as well, but they will need to convince Liverpool to let him leave in January for a small fee.

The 26-year-old has rejected any and all overtures from Liverpool and seems determined to leave England sooner rather than later.

Liverpool are calm about the situation, or at least they are publicly portraying this, as was seen with manager Arne Slot’s response after Alexander-Arnold’s goal celebration against West Ham United.

While that may be the situation in the Reds’ camp, at Real Madrid there is full confidence and optimism that Alexander-Arnold will sign on the dotted line and make the jump to Spain on a Bosman deal come summer.

More clarity on the situation should emerge in the days to come once Alexander-Arnold is in the last six months of his contract.
