La Liga giants Real Madrid are on the verge of adding to the club’s defensive ranks at youth level.
That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who has confirmed that the Real brass are all set to wrap up a deal for Lamini Fati.
Fati, for his part, is an 18-year-old central defender, who is currently playing his trade on the books of fellow La Liga outfit Leganés.
Having caught the eye with his performances at reserve level, Fati is understood to have made his way onto the transfer wishlists of a number of clubs across Spain.
As alluded to above, though, it is heavyweights Real Madrid who look set to beat out the stiff competition for his signature.
As per a report from Fabrizio Romano, citing Relevo:
‘Real Madrid are set to sign 18 year old centre back Lamini Fati for €100k fee.’
The deal is labelled as ‘almost done’, with the stopper in line to join up with Real’s Juvenil A team, with a view to a future first-team berth.
