Real Madrid were dealt a fresh blow last night during the Copa del Rey clash against Real Sociedad as in-form midfielder Dani Ceballos left the pitch in tears after picking up an injury.
Earlier today, Los Blancos confirmed that the Spanish international had suffered a with a semimembranosus muscle injury with tendon involvement in his left leg, ruling him out for around two months.
Building on that, journalist Carlos Rodriguez reports that Real Madrid’s objective is to recover Dani Ceballos in time for the potential Copa del Rey final in late April.
As things stand, the 28-year-old is ruled out of the La Liga matches against Real Betis, Rayo Vallecano, Villarreal, Leganes, Valencia, Alaves, Athletic Club, and Getafe.

In addition, Ceballos will miss the two UEFA Champions League Round of 16 clashes against Atletico Madrid as well as both the quarterfinals should Los Blancos qualify.
The midfielder is also ruled out of the Copa del Rey semi-final second leg against Real Sociedad which will be played on April 1.
The aim, as far as Real Madrid are concerned, is to ensure that Ceballos is ready to play in the finals of the cup competition, which will take place on April 26, provided they qualify for the main event.
With the 1-0 win over Sociedad on Wednesday, Los Blancos have one foot through the door already and must get the job done at the Santiago Bernabeu in April.
