In a positive update, Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund advanced in talks with each other over the transfer of Jude Bellingham this past Monday. As such, an agreement is finally closer and the deal could be completed this week.

Real Madrid have made Bellingham their top priority for the summer transfer window. Personal terms with the 19-year-old England international have already been agreed and the deal was expected to be over the line soon after the Bundesliga season ended.

However, that has not been the case as of yet. But there is no reason to worry for fans as Romano reports that a positive round of negotiations took place between the two clubs on Monday and they moved closer to finalising the deal for the midfielder.

One of the best young midfielders on the planet, Bellingham will likely cost the Merengues around €100 million plus add-ons.

It has been previously reported that the midfielder will be signing a six-year contract until 2029. His deal will have a massive release clause and wages that will increase with each passing season.

Real Madrid hope to finalise the signing of the 19-year-old by the end of the week.

The job will not be done though as the Spanish capital giants have a huge task of securing a replacement for Karim Benzema, who will be leaving for Saudi Arabia.

At the same time, Los Blancos are also looking for attacking reinforcements to make up for the losses of players like Marco Asensio, Mariano Diaz, and Eden Hazard from the squad.

Despite the impending arrival of Fran Garcia, another left-back is also on the agenda at the Valdebebas, while a move for a new right-back is not completely ruled out either.

It promises to be a hectic summer for Real Madrid, but they can tick the Bellingham box before this week after the latest round of negotiations with Dortmund went positively.
