The coaching staff at La Liga giants Real Madrid afforded a call-up to one of the club’s standout young talents for training on Friday.

The player in question? Jesús Fortea.

Fortea, for those not familiar with his name, is a 17-year-old defender, who generally lines out at right-back.

The Spaniard has long been considered a potential star in the making behind the scenes in Madrid, with his abilities on both sides of the ball having seen Fortea emerge as a leading figure in the club’s U19 setup.

Such efforts have not gone at all unnoticed on the part of Carlo Ancelotti and his staff, keeping an even closer eye on the youngster of late owing to the long-term injury suffered by Dani Carvajal.

And, as alluded to above, on Friday, as much culminated in a first-team call-up for Fortea.

Just 24 hours out from Real Madrid’s La Liga showdown with arch rivals Barcelona, the defender was spotted alongside Los Blancos’ star-studded ranks in group training at Valdebebas:
