Only one player has been directly involved in more goals in the Conference League this season than Cedric Bakambu (seven goals, two assists).

How both teams go into Real Betis vs Chelsea

This is history for Real Betis, whatever happens. The Spanish club are in the final of a major European competition for the first time in their histor. And they’ve had to work for it. Real Betis finished 15th in the group with 10 points from their six games, winning three. That meant they had to go through the knockout phase play-offs, beating Gent 3-1 on aggregate. Real Betis have since knocked out Vitoria Guimaraes, Jagiellonia Bialystok and Fiorentina en route to the final. The latter saw the second leg go to extra-time, with Real Betis pipping Fiorentina 4-3 on aggregate.

If they win here, Chelsea will be the first team to win the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League — a record that no big clubs will realistically want to match. The Blues went perfect in the group stage, winning all of their six games, and they carried that record through their last-16 win over FC Copenhagen. Chelsea then beat Legia Warsaw across two legs in the quarter-finals, but they did lose at Stamford Bridge — having been 3-0 up on aggregate. Enzo Maresca’s side were a lot more comfortable in their 5-1 aggregate win over Djurgarden in the semi-finals.

Real Betis team news

Diego Llorente will be out for Real Betis, missing the rest of the season due to injury. Marc Roca is also out injured.

Chelsea team news

Christopher Nkunku may be back in time for this game, but Wesley Fofana is out for the season. And the centre-back wasn’t included in the Conference League squad anyway.

Real Betis vs Chelsea head-to-head

This will be the fifth meeting between these two sides, and the first for almost 20 years. Real Betis won the most recent match, in the 2005-06 Champions League group stage, but Chelsea won the previous three.
