An update on the ongoing personnel crisis at La Liga outfit Real Betis has come to the fore on Tuesday afternoon.
The info comes courtesy of Mundo Deportivo, who have confirmed that William Carvalho marked his return to the training pitch earlier today.
The midfielder’s recovery, though, marks just about the only piece of positive news stemming from Manuel Pellegrini’s squad.
This comes as Betis prepare to make the trip to Croatia for the 2nd leg of their Europa Conference League tie with Dinamo Zagreb sans the services of no fewer than 11 players.
Absent from training on Tuesday were all of the injured Isco, Guido, Ayoze, Abner, and Bartra. Also playing no part, meanwhile, were the trio of Marc Roca, Sokratis and Chimy.
The latter two of this trio are not registered for European competition, anyway, though there is hope that midfielder Roca will return to fitness in time to face Dinamo after taking part in an individualised session this morning.
Elsewhere, Germán Pezzella is suspended, whilst Sokratis and Chimy are joined by all of Fornals, Sabaly and Altimira in being ineligible for European competition.
Manuel Pellegrini, as a result, is once again expected to call upon youth stars Xavi Pleguezuelo, Enrique Fernández, and Ginés Sorroche.
