A leading member of the first-team ranks at La Liga outfit Real Betis has on Wednesday been rewarded, by way of a new contract.
The player in question? Aitor Ruibal.
Versatile attacker Aitor has for his part spent the last eight years of his career on the books of Real Betis.
The early weeks of the new term, meanwhile, have seen the 28-year-old play a leading role for Manuel Pellegrini’s troops, featuring from the off in all three of the Verdiblancos’ La Liga outings.
Something of a fan favourite at the Estadio Benito Villamarín, it should, in turn, not come as much of a surprise to hear of Aitor, this week, being tied down for the long-term.
After a fresh round of contract negotiations were kickstarted between club and captain during the summer, such talks, on Wednesday, officially bore fruit.
As per a statement across Betis’ website and social media platforms:
‘Real Betis Balompié and Aitor Ruibal have reached an agreement to extend the Catalan player’s contract. In this way, the Betis captain is linked to the Betis Club until 2028.’
