A leading member of the defensive ranks at La Liga outfit Real Betis has on Friday secured a return to group training.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Marc Bartra as the player in question.
Stopper Bartra, for his part, has not taken to the pitch since all the way back on matchday 2 in the Spanish top-flight season.
This comes owing to a muscular injury suffered during a meeting with Deportivo Alavés.
Still considered a key figure in Manuel Pellegrini’s squad, the former Barcelona man’s return will therefore mark a major boost for all associated with Betis.
As per the aforementioned MD, the expectation is that Bartra will be given the green light to at the least take his place on the bench against Espanyol on Sunday evening.
Missing out for the Verdiblancos at the Benito Villamarín, on the other hand, will be the trio of Isco, William Carvalaho and Youssouf Sabaly, as well as, most likely, Vitor Roque.
