The powers that be at La Liga outfit Real Betis have earmarked an up-and-coming Argentine talent as a potential target for the summer.
That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who point towards Cristian Medina as having made his way firmly into the sights of the Betis brass.
Medina, for his part, is a 21-year-old midfielder, currently plying his club trade with Argentinian giants Boca Juniors.
It has been the youngster’s endeavours on the international stage, though, which have truly begun to pique the attentions of clubs across Europe over the last couple of weeks.
As much came with Medina starring for Argentina’s U23s, en route to the Albiceleste booking their spot in this summer’s Olympic games.
The all-action engine room star is tied down to a contract with Boca through the summer of 2027, but the widespread expectation is that Medina’s performances will ultimately see him land in Europe much sooner.
And Betis, it would appear, are keen to get a jump on the competition, considering an opening offer to bring the Argentine to the Estadio Benito Villamarín with a view to the 2024/25 campaign.
