Real Betis have on Thursday been afforded a boost on the personnel front.

This comes amid confirmation that a key member of Manuel Pellegrini’s midfield ranks has secured a return to full training.

The player in question? Johnny Cardoso.

United States international Cardoso, of course, made the move to the Estadio Benito Villamarín this past January.

And, in the short space of time since, the 22-year-old has gone on to make his presence in La Liga very much felt.

Cardoso, to date, has racked up seven starts for Betis, taking to the rigours of Spanish football like a duck to water courtesy of a number of standout displays.

Not only that, but, over the last couple of weeks, he has begun to make a difference in the final third, to the tune of a goal and two assists across his last four outings.

In turn, it came as a major source of concern for the Betis faithful when, on Wednesday, Cardoso was a notable absentee from first-team training with the rest of boss Pellegrini’s squad.

As reveled by Estadio Deportivo, though, those of a Verdiblancos persuasion need not fret.

This comes amid confirmation that the talented midfielder linked back up with his teammates on Thursday, training as normal.

Cardoso, as a result, is expected to feature from the off once more on Sunday, when Real Betis play host to Villarreal.
