Real Betis have already been very active in the transfer market this summer, closing five signings. Two of those (Marc Roca and Diego Llorente) have been from Leeds United, and a third player from the Yorkshire club would be heading to Andalusia.
It’d be a familiar face too, as ABC (via Diario AS) have reported that Junior Firpo is being considered as an option at left-back. The 27-year-old is a product of Betis’ academy, and he played 43 times for the first team from 2018 to 2019, before being sold to Barcelona. He joined Leeds from the Catalan giants in 2021.
Betis still need another left-back, following the departures of Juan Miranda (to Bologna) and Abner Vinicius (to Lyon). Romain Perraud has already joined from Southampton, but currently, he is the only senior option in Manuel Pellegrini’s squad.
It’s worth noting that Firpo’s Leeds contract expires next summer, but despite this, they are open to a loan deal. This would undoubtedly suit Betis, as they can assess him before deciding whether to sign him for free at the end of the upcoming season.
