On Thursday, Segunda side Amorebieta announced that defender Felix Garreta is currently in hospital, having been involved at an accident in his home earlier this week.

“Sociedad Deportiva Amorebieta reports that the footballer Felix Marti Garreta recently suffered a traumatic brain injury as a result of a fall at home. The player on loan from Real Betis Balompie is admitted to a hospital, with a reserved prognosis and pending evolution.

20-year-old Felix has spent the season on loan from Real Betis, and he’s had a very promising campaign. Diario AS have reported that he has been placed in an induced coma as a result of the brain injury sustained, and he is currently in the ICU of a Barcelona hospital.

Real Betis have since confirmed the news, and have sent their well wishes to Felix and his family.
