Real Betis president Angel Haro spoke to the media on Thursday to provide an sporting update ahead of the summer transfer opening in just over three weeks’ time. Possible arrivals and departures were discussed, and one of the names that propped up was Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos.

Ceballos’ future looks uncertain after a distinct lack of playing time for Los Blancos last season, and a possible return to Betis has been touted. However, Haro admitted (via Diario AS) that Los Verdiblancos are very unlikely to make a move this summer.

“The probability of him coming to Betis is distant. The circumstances are not right for him to end up here.”

Haro also discussed the situation of Guido Rodriguez, whose chance of a move to Barcelona this summer has appeared to blow up in smoke. He admitted that he does not expect a new contract to be signed by the Argentine pivot, meaning that he will leave Real Betis as a free agent later this month.

“I see it as complicated because we made a renewal offer at the time and there was no response. Being now a free player, he will have interesting options. He’s been a great professional here, but the market is what it is.”
