Reading Football Club has confirmed that an agreement has been reached, in principle, for the sale of the club to Redwood Holdings Limited.
The proposed takeover encompasses both the Select Car Leasing Stadium and the club’s Bearwood Park Training Ground. While the transaction remains subject to final legal formalities, the club states that the deal is expected to be completed in the near future.
In light of the agreement, the English Football League (EFL) has granted an extension to the deadline for the divestment of current owner Mr Dai Yongge’s shares. The revised deadline aligns with the EFL Board's next meeting on 8 May.
Redwood Holdings Ltd is a subsidiary of Dogwood Football LLC, an American company owned by Rob Couhig and Todd Trosclair, both based in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Further updates regarding the transaction and its finalisation are expected following the EFL Board meeting.
