Barcelona have made several important changes to their scouting system after the return of Joan Laporta to the board. They have been trying to sign players young, when the competition for them is little, with the hopes of enticing them with their rebuild project.
One of the players reportedly on their radar was Maccabi Tel Aviv’s Oscar Gloukh. The 18-year-old has sent shockwaves across European clubs since his incredible performances in the U-19 European Championship last year, when he scored three goals in four games for Israel.
Apart from Barcelona, AS Monaco and Borussia Dortmund are also said to be following Gloukh. However, it seems neither of the three will end up signing him.
That is because Raz Amir reports that the Israeli midfielder is set to move to Red Bull Salzburg in January. There is “no way” Barcelona get ahead of the Austrian outfit in the race for Gloukh unless than send an official offer in the next few hours.
The report also claims that Gloukh and his family, both, want to move to Salzburg, which makes the Blaugranes’ task infinitely tougher.
The 16-time Austrian champions had sent a four-year offer worth over €7 million for the teenager, including a salary that could reach up to €1 million per season.
Gloukh was also on the radar of Udinese and Besiktas, as per Nisim Haliva. The former had made a €6.5 million offer for him, while the latter could only table €5 million.
