Xavi Simons’ future at Paris Saint-Germain seems uncertain, with a return to RB Leipzig reportedly on the horizon. This development isn’t great news for Bayern Munich and Manchester United, both of which have shown interest in the young talent in recent weeks.

Sky Sport Germany’s Florian Plettenberg reported that Simons has decided to stay at RB LeipzigPSG and Leipzig are finalizing the last details for a new one-year loan as it marks a short-term solution.

Le Parisien’s Benjamin Quarez recently reported that Simons is set to join RB Leipzig on loan, allowing PSG to maintain full control over his future in 2025 and potentially receive the entire transfer fee next summer.

If he were sold this summer, PSV would take 60 percent of the fee. Simons never planned to return to PSG; his real goal is to play in the Premier League, possibly in 2025, which could be promising for Manchester United.

Simons appears to be on his way back to Leipzig, and manager Marco Rose spoke about potentially keeping the Dutchman for another season.

“It doesn’t look so bad for us,” Rose said (h/t Diario AS). “It seems that Xavi Simons has good memories of his year in Leipzig. It’s not over yet. He can become a leader for us and take on responsibilities and then take the next step at some point; it doesn’t have to be next year. But we haven’t finished yet, there are still some conversations to be had.”
