Rayo Vallecano have been making moves in the transfer market over the last couple of days and weeks, having recently announced the signing of Colombian star James Rodríguez.
If recent reports coming from Relevo are to be believed, the Madrid club aren’t done there and are currently eyeing a move for a star who most recently played for their city rivals, Atlético Madrid.
The player in question is Dutchman Memphis Depay, who didn’t quite set the world alight during his two seasons in the Spanish capital.
The 30-year-old forward scored 13 goals across 40 appearances for Los Colchoneros, and would likely be open to the idea of trying to rediscover his best form in Vallecas.
The forward enjoyed the best form of his career in France with Lyon, where he scored 76 goals in 178 appearances for the club.
He also has been a frequent contributor for the Dutch national team, appearing for the nation at Euro 2024, scoring in the group stage against Austria and getting an assist in the quarter-final against Turkey.
He is currently without a club, having departed Atlético Madrid back in May, and could move to Rayo Vallecano for free.
