Rayan Cherki withdraws from France U21 squad | OneFootball

Rayan Cherki (21) showed Didier Deschamps what he was missing on Friday night, registering two assists and scoring a goal as France U21 side beat England U21s in Lorient.

The Olympique Lyonnais forward is knocking on the door for a call-up to the senior side and he once again displayed what he could bring to the table. However, his impressive display against England will be his only one of this international break. As confirmed by the FFF, Cherki has left the France U21 squad having suffered a bruised foot last night. He has returned to his club side.

There is another departure, that of Christian Mawissa. The AS Monaco centre-back didn’t come on for Les Bleuets against England but he has been suffering from adductor pain. The pair have both already left the France set-up. The FFF have confirmed that the duo will not be replaced. Les Bleuets play Slovakia’s U21s on Monday.
