Manchester City have confirmed that Rayan Cherki will wear the No.10 shirt for the 2025/26 season.
The France international, signed from Lyon on a five-year deal prior to the FIFA Club World Cup, initially wore No.29 during the tournament in the United States, where he scored his first goal in the 6-0 win over Al Ain. The No.10 shirt became vacant following Jack Grealish’s season-long loan move to Everton.
Cherki, who made 185 appearances for Lyon after debuting at 16, inherits a number previously worn by City greats including Sergio Agüero, Edin Džeko, Shaun Goater, and Asa Hartford.
