After a solid season with Olympique Lyonnais, Rayan Cherki (20) is edging closer to Borussia Dortmund, but the German club still need to work on the final details of the deal.
With Cherki’s contract set to expire in 2025, Olympique Lyonnais will look to cash in on their attacking midfielder this summer. As revealed by Get French Football News, the Lyon-born playmaker will not renew his contract with Les Gones, forcing them to evaluate suitors for a move this summer. While PSG seemed ahead in the race to sign the young midfielder, Borussia Dortmund is now in pole and is working on details with Lyon.
According to a report by Fabrizio Romano, Cherki is convinced by Dortmund’s project, and is determined to join the Bundesliga next season. Lyon will not retain their player due to his contract situation, but they want to include a sell-on clause in the deal for their young and talented playmaker. Both clubs are now working to find an agreement, while Cherki is about to compete at the Olympics.
