Former Arsenal footballer Ray Parlour has suggested that Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey would be a good signing for Liverpool.

Liverpool are yet to replace midfielder Gini Wijnaldum. The Dutchman joined Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer earlier this summer.

With that being the case, Parlour implied that Ramsey would be a decent replacement for Wijnaldum.

Parlour told talkSPORT the following (28/07/21 at 9:35 am): “I think Ramsey, would Liverpool suit him? Again, it’s all on the wages. What sort of wages he’s on. His contract is not up [expires summer of 2023].

“Exactly [Liverpool need to find a Wijnaldum replacement] and he would score you goals from midfield.”

It was reported back in March that Liverpool were interested in Ramsey.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Ramsey was a decent player for Arsenal. The midfielder scored 65 goals and registered 65 assists in 371 appearances for the club.

Ramsey departed Arsenal and signed for Juventus on a free transfer back in 2019.

The 30-year-old has struggled since signing for the Serie A side. Ramsey has picked up a number of injuries during his time at Juventus, which is a key reason why he has only made 65 appearances for the club since 2019.

With that being the case, we don’t want to see Liverpool sign Ramsey. The reality is, he is injury-prone.

Also, Ramsey is 30 years of age. He is at the backend of his career. There is no real upside to signing Ramsey.
