Manchester United were by far the better side, but still ended up on the losing side in their Premier League opener against Arsenal on Sunday.
The Red Devils dominated the Gunners like few other teams have managed in recent seasons, and it should bode well for Ruben Amorim’s side moving forward.
The front-three, comprising of Mason Mount, Matheus Cunha, and Bryan Mbeumo, looked a class apart, and with Benjamin Sesko, the Portuguese now has a formidable attack.
And that is why the head coach opted to drop Rasmus Hojlund altogether from the matchday squad. The Dane proved inadequate up front last season, as he managed a meagre four goals in the English top-flight.
Despite his struggles in England, plenty of Serie A teams remain interested with AC Milan leading the charge as of now.
However, The Peoples Person have relayed Napoli’s entry into the race, following Romelu Lukaku’s injury. The league winners could potentially challenge the Rossoneri for the 22-year-old’s signature.
Which is why, as per TBR Football, Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri called the Denmark international to convince him to come to the San Siro instead.
“Sources have told TBR Football that AC Milan are very much favourites at this point and further talks took place on Monday as they look to seal a loan deal with an option.
“Max Allegri has spoken to the player, and if that is the case, he is a hugely impressive figure, and when he wants you, it is hard to turn down.
“Milan are working hard on this now, and they are making it clear to him that he can resurrect his career at the San Siro.”
The Dane remains a popular figure back in Italy due to his exploits with Atalanta. And it will be intriguing to see if the six-time Serie A winning boss’ call proves to be enough to convince him.
Apart from Italian clubs, there is also interest from Newcastle and Fulham. INEOS will be hoping this increased interest leads to permanent offers instead of loan proposals.
