Raphinha shares anecdote about Lamine Yamal’s Brazil vacation with Neymar – ‘No coincidence…’ | OneFootball

No Barcelona player’s vacation is being discussed or attracting more eyes than Lamine Yamal, and understandably so for the teenage sensation has been having the time of his life.

After a hard-fought season for Barcelona, he has rightfully left Catalonia on a long vacation that has been marred with controversy at times, but also spoken of highly for the great idols of his he is meeting.

One such idol, and Barcelona legend, whom Yamal met on vacation was Neymar Jr as the duo linked up in Brazil to spend some quality time together.

Raphinha speaks on Yamal’s vacation

Speaking to the media in a recent interview (h/t SPORT), Barcelona superstar Raphinha opened up on the conversation he had with Yamal about potentially meeting Neymar on vacation and how he had a small role to play in the same.

“He asked me if he sent a message to Ney, whether he was going to answer him, and I think he did answer him because I saw them together,” he said.

“And I told him… of course he’s going to answer you!” he added with the optimism he had that Neymar would oblige to meet the Barcelona teenager.

Elaborating on Yamal, the youngster’s fame and how it was always a no-brainer that he would get an appointment with Neymar, Raphinha said,

“I think that with the level he has reached, today he has access to anything that arises or to anyone, even Neymar Jr. It’s no coincidence that the two were together.”

The Barcelona winger also revealed that he did not give Yamal any particular advice ahead of his vacation to Spain but shared some small passing words he did give the youngster.

“He told me he would come and I didn’t give him any special advice, he asked me for suggestions about places he could visit here.”

“The only thing I told him is that there is no way to spend a vacation in Brazil without looking for a good beach and a good place to have fun,” he added.

“As a good Brazilian that I am, I encouraged him to come,” Raphinha concluded.
