Raphael Varane has posted a classy and emotional farewell message to Real Madrid, ahead of his switch to Manchester United.

As I’m sure you can understand, we are all buzzing with the prospective arrival of Varane and how it will benefit our defence moving forward. Last season we conceded 18 goals from set pieces and we can’t see a repeat of that if there are plans to mount a proper challenge for the Premier League title.

On Tuesday, it was announced that United had reached an agreement with Real Madrid for the transfer of their France international, subject to a medical and player terms being finalised.

Stretty News understands United want their own staff to lead the medical rather than the player undergoing tests in Spain, with COVID-19 protocols also getting in the way of anything happening straight away.
