Journalist Raphael Honigstein has recently been talking about Borussia Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho.
However, Honigstein is under the impression that Liverpool don’t have the money to sign Sancho this summer.
Honigstein said that the only way Liverpool could afford Sancho this summer is if Mohamed Salah is sold.
“I cannot imagine Liverpool, especially since the money for a Sancho transfer is simply not there. A new dynamic could only come into the matter if Mo Salah leaves,” Honigstein told Sport1.
ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT
There is no denying that if Liverpool sold Salah, they would be able to afford Sancho. Salah has a current market value of €110 million. Sancho has a current market value of €100 million.
However, at Anfield Watch, we don’t want to see Salah sold. The Egyptian international is such an important player for Liverpool.
Salah has scored 123 goals and registered 45 assists in 198 appearances for Liverpool. Also, Salah is only 28 years of age. His career is far from finished.
It has been reported that the club will offer Salah a new contract. With that being the case, we don’t see the club cashing in on the striker this summer.
