Raphaël Guerreiro believes that Borussia Dortmund are “equally as strong” as they were before the winter break after demolishing Hannover on Saturday.

The Portugal international was on the scoresheet as the current Bundesliga leaders put five past Die Roten.

And the flying defender has insisted that the mid-season break hasn’t slowed down Lucien Favre’s men.

“It was important for us to win this game too,” he told reporters.

“We showed that we’ve come back equally as strong as before the winter break. That’s how we want to continue.

“The first half was very intense. Thereafter the pressing of the opposition dropped off, and when we went 2-0 up they probably lost some hope. That enabled us to win.”

Dortmund now face a crucial match away at Frankfurt next weekend.
