Harry Kane has broken records since he arrived at Bayern Munich from Tottenham last summer, with the England captain leading the race for the European Golden Shoe.

It’s been a brilliant goalscoring campaign for Kane after becoming the Bundesliga’s record signing and looks set to end with individual honours at the very least. After scoring against Real Madrid this week, the 30-year-old is also aiming for Champions League success before the campaign’s conclusion.

Amid the forward’s goalscoring feats this season, we’ve ranked the five highest-scoring seasons of Harry Kane’s career.

5. Tottenham, 2022/23 (32 goals)

Kane scored 32 goals in his final season at Tottenham, the fifth-best return of his career. His haul included reaching 30 goals in the league, equalling his most prolific Premier League season.

He also became only the second player, after Alan Shearer, to reach 30+ league goals in more than one Premier League campaign, though missed out on the Golden Boot after a record-breaking season from Manchester City’s Erling Haaland.

He did, however, win Tottenham’s Player of the Year award and earned a place in the PFA Team of the Year for a sixth time. Only Steven Gerrard (8) has ever been included more.

4. Tottenham, 2020/21 (33 goals)

The 2020/21 season saw Kane evolve into both an elite creator and taker of chances, becoming just the third player to top the Premier League for goals and assists in the same season.

He scored 23 league goals to beat Mohamed Salah (22) to the Premier League’s Golden Boot and also provided a league-leading 14 assists. That latter return included all FOUR assists for Son Heung-min in an early season win at Southampton, as the Spurs duo combined to devastating effect at St Mary’s.

3. Tottenham, 2016/17 (35 goals)

Kane finished as the Premier League’s leading scorer for the second time in 2016/17 and scored 35 goals in all competitions for Spurs.

An astonishing run of form saw Kane overhaul Romelu Lukaku to win the Golden Boot, as he scored seven goals in the last two fixtures of the season, a 6-1 win over Leicester and a 7-1 thrashing of Hull, to finish on 29 league goals.

The achievement saw Kane become only the fifth player to win the Golden Boot in successive seasons, after Alan Shearer, Michael Owen, Thierry Henry and Mohamed Salah.

2. Tottenham, 2017/18 (41 goals)

Kane broke through the 40-goal barrier for the first time during a stunning season in 2017/18, as the England international scored 41 times in all competitions.

He scored his first Champions League hat-trick in a group stage win against Cypriot side APOEL and ended the calendar year with a new record for Premier League goals scored (39), eclipsing Alan Shearer (36), after scoring six league hat-tricks in 2017.

Kane also finished above Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as the leading scorer in Europe for the calendar year in 2017.

However, despite his record-breaking returns, Kane missed out on a third consecutive Premier League Golden Boot in 2017/18 to Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.

He made amends in the summer by coming just the second Englishman to win the World Cup’s Golden Boot in Russia.

1. Bayern Munich, 2023/24 (43 goals*)

On a personal level, it’s been a debut season to remember for Kane at Bayern Munich.

The Bavarians broke their transfer record by signing Kane for a fee of €100m last summer and have been rewarded with a record-breaking campaign.

The 30-year-old took just 11 games to surpass the 16 goals scored by last season’s Bundesliga top scorers, Christopher Nkunku and Niclas Fullkrug, and has continued to shatter records.

His 35 league goals is a record for a debut season in the Bundesliga, eclipsing Uwe Seeler who scored 30 in 1963/64, and he is six short of Robert Lewandowski’s all-time single-season record (41) with three games to go.

Kane is nine goals clear in the race for the European Golden Shoe and looks set to become only the second Englishman, after Sunderland’s Kevin Phillips, to win the award.
