With all this in mind we’ve decided to assist those of you who like to follow the odds on the best online bookies like Sbobet by taking a look at the five favourites to win the Carabao Cup.

Arsenal – 11/1

Arsenal have been priced as fifth favourites to win the Carabao Cup this season, despite a disappointing start in the Premier League.

The north London side have reached at least the quarter-finals in four of the past five seasons, with the tournament perhaps offering the Gunners their most realistic chance of silverware this season.

Arsenal are without European commitments in 2021/22, so greater emphasis can be placed on the domestic cup competitions as Mikel Arteta looks to add to the FA Cup he won during his debut season in 2020.

Arsenal will want to improve on a poor recent record in the League Cup however, having failed to win the trophy since a domestic cup double in 1992/93 and losing on their past three final appearances in 2007, 2011 and 2018.

The Gunners have been drawn to face AFC Wimbledon at the Emirates in round three.

Liverpool – 9/1

Liverpool are priced at odds of 9/1 to win the Carabao Cup, with Jurgen Klopp having often rotated his options significantly for domestic cup competitions.

Since finishing as runners-up during the German’s first season in charge, Liverpool have progressed beyond the last eight on just one occasion, whilst their record in the FA Cup is even poorer having never gone past round five under Klopp.

Liverpool have the capabilities to challenge for both the Premier League and Champions League again this season, but those pursuits could come at the detriment of domestic cup success.

The Reds travel to face Norwich in round three on Tuesday evening and Klopp’s line-up will be a clear indication of where his priorities are this season.

Liverpool are joint-record eight-time winners of the Carabao Cup with their last success coming during the 2011/12 season.

Manchester United – 9/1

The pressure is mounting on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to deliver silverware at Manchester United, following a series of near misses during the Norwegian’s time in charge.

United have reached the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup in each of the past two campaigns, but have lost on both occasions to eventual winners Manchester City.

Runners-up in the Europa League last season, it’s now been four seasons without a major trophy for the Red Devils and Solskjaer will be aiming to end that wait across all competitions this season.

The arrivals of Cristiano Ronaldo, Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho have strengthened the squad this summer and United now boast the depth of options to both rotate and progress in the League Cup this season.

Chelsea- 6/1

Chelsea continue to impress under Thomas Tuchel and are the second favourites to lift the Carabao Cup in 2021/22, with the west Londoners boasting one of Europe’s most talented squads at present.

Tuchel could use the Carabao Cup as an opportunity to provide minutes for the likes of Timo Werner, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ben Chilwell, a more than capable collection of names and an example of the depth and talent Chelsea possess.

Chelsea have already collected the Champions League and UEFA Super Cup under Tuchel and have started the season strongly, sitting top of the Premier League following an unbeaten start to the league season.

The Blues have, however, been given one of the third round’s more difficult draws and will face Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge.

Manchester City – 11/4

Manchester City are incredibly seeking a fifth consecutive Carabao Cup win this season, having developed a stranglehold on the competition in recent seasons.

Pep Guardiola has a squad capable of competing on multiple fronts and it has brought huge success, their victory over Tottenham in last season’s final earning City a record-equalling eighth triumph.

City face Wycombe Wanderers at the Etihad in round three and will be expected to progress with few problems, as Guardiola looks to win a ninth major trophy since his arrival into English football.

The Premier League champions are capable of fielding an entirely different XI for this tournament and still beating the majority of sides they face, their odds of just 11/4 an indication that the bookmakers believe their dominant run can continue this season.
