Manchester United have gone through plenty of managers since Sir Alex Ferguson retired back in 2013.

Erik ten Hag is the man currently hoping to bring the glory days back to Old Trafford, but plenty have failed before him.

The Dutch manager led United to third place last season, returning to the Champions League after one season’s absence, but has begun the 2023-24 campaign with two defeats in four games.

“I have seen a lot of the games already in the Premier League,” he told Sky Sports before the 3-2 loss at Arsenal in September 2023. “None of the teams are yet in the right shape and in the right form. That is normal at the start of a season. Everything has to settle in and to improve. That is our job as managers.”

While Ten Hag is correct, United have not looked convincing in any of their four league matches this year and performances will need to improve if the Dutchman is not to come under pressure from the fans and media.

Still, the 53-year-old has a good points-per-game record when compared with the other six bosses to have worked under the Glazers.

Sir Alex Ferguson was always going to be a tough act to follow and many so far have crumbled under the weight of expectations.

Ten Hag is clearly motivated enough to bring the good times back, but how does his record stack up against former United bosses?
