Huddersfield Town are ploughing on and looking for the vital points that will keep them in the Championship next season.

Carlos Corberan, undoubtedly, has a lot of talent on his hands at the John Smith’s Stadium, but keeping everyone fit and performing to the peak of their powers have proved to be a thankless task.

There are players like Alex Pritchard that can be classed in that pool of ‘talent’, but in the case of the midfielder there’s not much denying that it hasn’t happened for him at the John Smith’s Stadium.

His value, then, will have decreased.

However, what about those on the flip side of that coin that have seen their value rocket at Huddersfield given their talent?

We’ve dived onto transfermarkt to rank the 10 players that have had the biggest market value increase since their debut for the Terriers…

Sarr was picked up by Corberan ahead of the 2020/21 season, with the towering centre-back impressing in the Championship last season whilst on the books with Charlton Athletic.

At the point of his arrival, Sarr was valued at £720k, which has increased by £630k over the course of a campaign under the management of Corberan.

Now, Sarr is valued somewhere around £1.35m after scoring four goals in 37 appearances for the Terriers in the Championship.

His most recent outing was against Barnsley in the Championship, where the 27-year-old locked horns with Daryl Dike in a fierce battle with one of the division’s leading strikers right now.

In ninth position is Danny Ward, who had a market value of just £45k when he first made his debut for the Terriers all the way back in 2011.

A lot has passed for Ward since then, with his value rising to £900k at the time of writing.

That means he’s seen an increase of £855k since his debut for the Terriers.

Despite that, it’s been a struggle this season for Ward at Huddersfield, with the striker failing to score a goal since being brought back to West Yorkshire by Corberan in the summer transfer window.

He did, however, get an assist in the recent win over Nottingham Forest.

Schindler arrived at Town from 1860 Munich with a market valuation of £810k, which has increased by £990k up to this point.

The centre-back helped guide Huddersfield into the Premier League and he then excelled in the top-flight for the Terriers.

Right now, his market value is £1.80m, even though he’s looking set for the exit door when the summer transfer window comes around.

Corberan has been without Schindler for a large part of the season due to injury and he isn’t expecting him back anytime soon.

With the campaign having just games left before its conclusion, it feels that Schindler has played his last game for the club.

Interestingly, at the time that Mbenza made his debut for Huddersfield, he had a market value of £3.15m.

Up to this point, that has shot up by £1.35m and the winger is currently valued around £4.5m.

Mbenza, though, is actually out of contract in the summer transfer window and there’s no sign of a contract extension on the table from Huddersfield.

That means that there’s a high chance that the club could be about to wave goodbye to the talented winger for nothing ahead of 2021/22.

However, given the struggles he’s had for consistency, some fans will not care one bit.

The right-back has been one of this season’s big, big success stories at the John Smith’s Stadium, offering a real attacking threat from right-back for Corberan.

In fact, when Town have played well, it has often been Pipa that has been the shining light on the right.

At the time of debut, Pipa was valued at £405k, but right now he’s valued at £1.8m, which is an increase of £1.4m over the course of his debut season in the Championship.

You feel that if Pipa can continue his trajectory on the pitch, the Spanish under-21 international would only rise up these particular rankings.

Like Pipa on the right, Toffolo has had a big impact on the side when he’s played at left-back.

The two full-backs are by far Corberan’s most influential players, at both ends of the pitch.

Interestingly, they have both seen their market value increase by £1.4m since their arrival.

Toffolo came in with a valuation of just £225k, but he’s now up at £1.62m given his impressive, consistent performances in a Huddersfield shirt.

In truth, if Toffolo was to leave the Terriers, Huddersfield would be able to demand three or four times more than this for a player that could well be classed as the Championship’s standout left-back.

At the time of arriving at the John Smith’s Stadium, there was no market valuation for Koroma, so he’s had a big increase.

Right now, he’s valued at £1.8m as he thrives in 2020/21 and has something of a breakthrough season.

Koroma scored six goals prior to injury in December and has recently made his comeback for Corberan as the Championship run-in looms.

Had Koroma managed to keep himself free of injury this season, he could be valued so much higher than he is given his early season heroics for Huddersfield.

Expect to see this climb as the young forward establishes himself properly in the Championship.

Holmes progressed through the ranks at Huddersfield Town and made his debut for the club without having a registered market value.

Again, that means that he’s had a significant hike in market value.

Right now, the midfielder is valued at £1.98m, having returned to the John Smith’s Stadium in the January transfer window.

Huddersfield haven’t really seen the best of what Holmes has to offer since returning, but decent spells with Scunthorpe United and Derby County contribute to this value.

It will be interesting to see if Holmes’ form can help to hike this up over the coming years, given he’s penned a long-term contract with his boyhood club.

Bacuna has been inconsistent during his time as a Huddersfield Town player, but he’s also seen his market value increase nicely since arriving at the John Smith’s Stadium.

At the time of his arrival, Bacuna was valued at £2.25m, which has increased to £4.5m now.

That means that Bacuna’s valuation has gone up £2.25m since his arrival at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Some might feel that is generous given the inconsistency that Bacuna has shown, but there’s little denying that when he’s on the top of his game, he’s a real handful.

Whether you’d fork out almost £5m for that service, though, is up for debate.

Unsurprisingly, academy graduate and Huddersfield’s best player, Lewis O’Brien, tops this list of players.

O’Brien came through with no market value and is now valued at £2.7m.

In truth, that’s quite modest compared to what the midfielder is actually worth to Huddersfield Town.

When he doesn’t play well, the Terriers struggle and miss his drive in the heart of the side.

In back-to-back seasons, he’s stepped up in a tough campaign and, to many, he is the best player on the books at the John Smith’s Stadium.

This will only go up as the midfielder’s impressive career continues to shape.
