This evening, Tottenham Hotspur will showdown with Scottish side Rangers at Ibrox, as they contest match day six of the 24/25 Europa League campaign.

Coming into the game, it has been a tough week for Ange Postecoglu, and everybody at the club. On Tuesday, Cristian Romero was ruled out for six weeks, having picked up an injury in the defeat to Chelsea. Then, on Wednesday, partner Micky van de Ven was ruled out for 2-3 weeks, with another hamstring injury.

With Ben Davies picking up an injury of his own in the defeat to AFC Bournemouth last Thursday, Spurs are extremely depleted in central defence, with Ange having the barest of bones to pick from in that department.

Meanwhile, at the other end of the pitch, Spurs are still without Wilson Odobert, Mikey Moore, and Richarlison, as Ange is forced into giving players more games and minutes than they otherwise would have liked, increasing the chances of fatigue, and therefore even more injuries.

How both teams look ahead of the showdown at Ibrox tonight

As a result, with all of that in mind, the gaffer has opted for the following XI for tonight’s game; Forster; Porro, Dragusin, Gray, Udogie; Bentancur, Bissouma, Maddison; Johnson, Son, Werner.

The bench consists of; Austin, Whiteman, Dorrington, Hardy, Sarr, Bergvall, Kulusevski, Williams-Barrett, Olusei, Lankshear, Solanke.

Ange makes five changes from the team that lost to Chelsea. Radu Dragusin, Archie Gray, Rodrigo Bentancur, James Maddison and Timo Werner replace Romero, van de Ven, Dejan Kulusevski, Pape Sarr and Dominic Solanke.

In the home dugout, Rangers boss Phillipe Clement has gone for a line up of; Butland; Tavernier, Souttar, Propper, Jefte, Ridvan; Diomande, Raskin, Bajrami, Cerny; Igamane.

This is a huge game for the club, with the chance of qualifying as a top eight side firmly in the balance based on the result of tonight’s game. After one point from the previous two games in this competition, it is paramount that Spurs get back to winning ways in tonight's game. The club are already playing too many games for this squad to deal with, never mind if a two legged play-off tie is added to the schedule.

Let's see if the team can finally show they have a bit about them, and manage to silence the hostile crowd. It is about time they showed they have some character, to shut out all of the noise. Come on you Spurs.
