Rangers trio vulnerable as PL sides make enquiries

As regulars to Ibrox Noise will know, we report the information we get, from all different sources: media, our own, online, you name it.

We get abuse for these a lot, and that’s fine, we’re used to it. Usually it’s the negative stories we get abused for – fair play, no one wants to see a negative story about the club we love.

But we report everything, so we take the rough with the smooth and the flak our way if a story isn’t the joyful bed of roses you want to see.

With that said, the club appears ready to sell at least one or two of the club’s biggest assets this summer, with Alfredo Morelos, Joe Aribo and Glen Kamara strongly in line for a transfer after enquiries were made, while Ryan Kent is another one vulnerable if the right offer comes in.

Rangers don’t appear to have made as much from the Europa League as Stewart Robertson tried to claim, after the MD alleged we’d made more from the run than we would have from UCL group stage.

Given the group stage earns a minimum of £40M and UEL couldn’t secure more than about £30M tops, this was clearly economy with numbers from the MD who tried to take fans for fools by claiming the UEL was more lucrative than the Promised Land of the UCL.

Which has all meant that while our revenue is far better this accounting year, unfortunately we don’t have the well of cash we were led to believe, and player sales have become vital to any major moves in the market.

Hence Aribo, Morelos and Kamara.

All have indicated they’re conducive to a move – Aribo avoided talks on a new deal (a host of PL sides want him), Morelos is in negotiations but wants to talk to other clubs (Sevilla are close), and Kamara has admitted he’s open to leave (Brighton are interested).

And that’s ok, Rangers fans are pliable to some of these moving on as long as the replacements are worthy.

As for Kent? He’s settled in Scotland now but as with football, if the right offer at the right club in the PL comes up, he’d have to consider the move. And clubs there are looking at him but that’s nowhere near as far along as the first three.

We know we know, every window is the same, with the same group of players linked with moves out, and it gets sites like Ibrox Noise abuse – the problem is the info is out there, and it’s true information. It just doesn’t mean the moves always happen.

Goldson a classic example – he was all set for a move south but no good offer came in so he gave up waiting and decided to stay where he is. Even Gio confirmed Goldson was as good as gone, so if the manager thinks it, there’s no smoke without fire, is there?

Either way, we’d be staggered if a couple of these big names aren’t sold this summer.

In truth, it is probably time.
