It is understood Bournemouth have pulled out of the race to sign Rangers’ rising star striker Hamza Igamane for now, but that Everton have taken their place and are very very keen on Rangers’ 22-year-old.
Joining Fulham, West Ham, and Brentford, not to mention Bournemouth’s continued monitoring of the striker, the Goodison giants seek to replace potentially both Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Beto with their futures remaining a bit uncertain.
Igamane has very quickly risen in value, and while transfermarkt still credits him as a £2M player, it’s abundantly clear that Rangers will seek a heck of a lot more from any Premier League side to part with the player who is becoming the number one striker at Ibrox.
Yes, he’s not the biggest, and he isn’t the quickest either, but his dribbling, upper body strength and finishing have been noted by the big fish down south and Everton have emerged front-runners for his signature, and they are looking a bit more attractive now that they are starting to pick up some points and move a little bit away from the relegation zone.
Fee?
Rangers’ finances are not strong, but the new hierarchy in Patrick Stewart, Nils Koppen and Fraser Thornton would not be entertaining much less than £10M for the player who has become one of Rangers’ crowning assets the past few months.
If Everton dig deep, Rangers may be seeking a replacement for Igamane already.
