Rangers have one foot in the Champions League group stage after winning the first leg of their qualifier with Servette.
Scorers: Tavernier (PEN) 6ā², Dessers 15ā²; Bedia (PEN) 44ā²
Michael Bealeās side went ahead early on at Ibrox through James Tavernierās penalty after David Douline took down Todd Cantwell in the area.
A second followed less than 10 minutes later as Cyriel Dessers scored his first goal for the Gers by meeting Borna BariÅ”iÄās cross at the far post.
But Dessers would contribute to Servette reducing the deficit moments before half-time when his handball allowed Chris Bedia to score from the spot.
The Nigeria international sought to redeem himself after the interval with a first-time effort which Joƫl Mall kept out with an equally instinctive save.
Servette were reduced to 10 men on the hour mark as Douline received his marching orders for a second bookable offence after fouling Cantwell again.
Rangers travel to Geneva for next weekās return leg as they aim to secure a Champions League group spot in consecutive seasons.
