The Gers announced news of the deal via a post on their official club website this evening.
McLoughlin spent her early youth with Birmingham City before making the switch to Second City rivals Aston Villa in 2020. The England youth international has successfully made the step up to senior level and she has gone on to represent The Villans on 29 occasions in the Barclays Women’s Super League.
The midfielder has been short of regular game time this season and she has now been allowed to go out on loan in the second half of the campaign. She joins a Rangers side that continue to grow as a full-time professional outfit.
After sealing her loan move to the Glasgow giants, McLoughlin said “I am really excited and I am really looking forward to spending my time here.
“Jo [Potter] had a big influence, when I went on loan to Birmingham last season I had her there and we got on really well, I loved playing under her and her style of play so that was a big reason for me coming here.”
McLoughlin is the first outgoing player transaction of the January transfer window at Aston Villa.
