Rangers return from collapse but Man Utd just keep on falling

We at Ibrox Noise have been told off in the past for veering into non-Rangers topics, and you know what? If you don’t like the subject, just hit the close button, no offence taken!

We’re not the only large Rangers fan forum that covers non-Rangers content now and then and we’ll continue to do so when it takes our fancy.

And with that said and done, Man Utd’s plight really is one for the ages.

Since Sir Alex quit Old Trafford, the English giant has been on a persistent downward curve, and now their new manager, an ill-advised choice anyone with a brain could see wasn’t the answer, has broken all sorts of records by having the worst start by any Utd boss for a 100 years.

See, Rangers ourselves have been through a horrible fall – but we recovered. We got back.

But Man Utd have been steadily falling for over 9 years since Moyes took over, and while the brand name of Man Utd remains one of the most significant in football (they and Real Madrid are historically the biggest two brands of team in the game) the club these days is a complete basket case.

Yesterday’s humiliation at Brentford was a little spot of karma.

Karma for Eriksen who turned his back on the club who kind of saved his life by giving him a chance when no one else would, in dumping Brentford for Man Utd, only to go back to London and get ritually humiliated by his old club. He frankly deserved that.

Karma for the club as a whole who signed Harry Maguire for £80M purely to get one over on Liverpool who’d spent £75M on Van Dijk. If ever a signing was pure ego, that was it.

And Karma for Ronaldo, who is desperately trying to escape his Utd nightmare, having made the misguided choice to go back for money.

Thing is, we actually don’t hate Man Utd – they’re little or nothing to do with Rangers, aside the SAF connection. We don’t exactly like them, but hate is a strong word.

But you really do reap what you sow in this game. Rangers did, and we paid the price for poor financial mismanagement. But we took it on the chin, and now we’re back.

Man Utd runs even deeper – they are a cash machine for the Glazers, who are not interested in on pitch success, just off-pitch brand profit.

This year’s Brand Finance confirmed them at their ‘lowest ever’ spot at 5th. Even in this languishing hell, Man Utd are still the 5th biggest world brand of football.

Is it any wonder the Glazers ain’t selling.

They don’t care if the team sucks, they do care if the profit does.

And it never will.

Which is why the Utd era is a thing of the past and their city rivals are by far the juggernaut both on and off the pitch now.

The new world.

Now, back to Rangers 😉
