Rangers may have finally solved the ongoing Ibrox injury crisis with the significant development of securing a major new signing from Aberdeen.
As you may have seen in the press, former Dons physio Kevin Bain has now been plucked from Pittodrie and will be Rangers’ new main medic going forward. This will have no bearing on Dr Mark Waller’s position as head of Medical and Performance, but it will give players a new and highly coveted outlet for their physical problems.
Indeed, Bain was sought by many rival clubs, and is regarded as one of the ‘best in the business’ (perhaps an exaggeration) and it’s being (hopefully) viewed that the acquisition of former Dons chief Jim Goodwin’s old mate (he brought him to Aberdeen two years ago) will aid with a great deal of Rangers’ injury issues.
His record at prior clubs is solid, and appears historically much better than Rangers’ own recent numbers have been, and with a glut of players at Ibrox still unavailable, it’s suggested that Bain’s arrival may hugely help with some methods and routines to improve the standing of that problem at Ibrox.
Will it fix it? Well, we said/hoped the same about Waller’s return so we can’t possibly commit ourselves, but Rangers’ issues seem to have been about competent physical management or lack thereof, so if a physio as good as Bain is purported to be, it could certainly make big strides towards helping the club.
Here’s hoping there’s no more reason for Oscar Cortes to be injured every minute.
