Rangers: Lyon tracking Ianis Hagi
An update has emerged regarding interest in Rangers gem Ianis Hagi from mainland Europe…
What’s the talk?
The report claims that the Gers are ready to demand a fee in the region of £9m for his services, with Sevilla and Roma among the other clubs showing an interest in him.
Will Hagi leave in January?
Van Bronckhorst must avoid a disaster
Giovanni van Bronckhorst is due to head into his first transfer window in charge of the club and he must avoid his debut disaster in charge by ensuring that he is able to keep hold of Hagi. Whether that means convincing him to stay until the end of the season or committing to a long-term stay at Ibrox remains to be seen, but allowing him to leave in January would be a massive blow.
Former Gers boss Steven Gerrard previously hailed the Romanian as he said: “We’re really happy with Ianis Hagi, he’s a joy to work with.
“He’s a student of the game. He’s always looking at areas to improve, whether that be from a physical point of view or tactically or technically. He’s someone you have to drag off the training ground.
“Ianis is always in the analyst department too. He’s never out of the gym, so he’s an absolute dream to work with, very low maintenance. We’re delighted with how he is developing and progressing and we’re happy to have him.”

Therefore, selling him now before he has a chance to continue his development at Ibrox would be a wasted opportunity, along with the blow of losing his talent in the here and now. This is why Van Bronckhorst must avoid selling him and dulyplead with Ross Wilson to remain strong by rejecting offers for his services, as it would be a disaster to lose him in January.
