Hodge wants Patterson to stay at Rangers as he feels that this scenario would suit both parties.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT about the matter, he said: “Patterson, it would be too early for him to move for a start. He should wait at least one more season and probably two. And for Rangers’ benefit as well, because by the time he becomes an established first-team player, he can showcase some fantastic variety that he’s got in his game in the final third.”

Should Patterson stick with Rangers?

A move to Manchester United may be tempting for Patterson considering the Premier League outfit are one of the biggest clubs on the planet. Hodge may be right in encouraging to bide his time, though, before seeking a big transfer.

Patterson does not turn 20 until later this week, and still has plenty to learn in order to improve his game to fulfill his potential. If he were to move to Old Trafford in the near future, he may struggle to get game time, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer already having Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot to call upon to cover the right-back spot in the team.
