A shocking incident occurred as Rangers took on Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership on Friday night.

In the first half at Easter Road, Rangers defender James Tavernier was preparing to take a throw-in when a Hibs supporters vaulted the advertising hoardings and kicked the ball away.

The supporter than pushed Tavernier and the two almost came to blows on the touchline before security staff intervened.

Many on social media were unimpressed with the fan’s behaviour 


But the incident didn’t seem to have much effect on Steven Gerrard’s players, who led 1-0 at half-time through Daniel Candeias.

A win for Rangers will see them move within five points of Celtic at the top of the table.
