Rangers fans have tonight been stunned at yet another long-term injury blow, after attacker Tom Lawrence was confirmed out till next year with a new injury.

The playmaking forward, who had had a very solid start to his Rangers career, found it cut short after a belated injury v Ross County laid him out for some time, only for a new injury during his recovery to sideline him long term, in a blow which will infuriate Rangers supporters, already dealing with the extended loss of Ianis Hagi, Filip Helander and John Souttar.

Questions are being asked tonight of the Ibrox medical team, and we admit we have to second those queries given this is now the fifth long-term absentee to befall the club inside only 8 months (Hagi, Helander, Souttar, Roofe), 6th including Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Jack (7th including Lowry but that wasn’t the club’s fault), and fans are understandably livid at this one, because Lawrence was clearly coming onto a bit of a game before we lost him.

Rangers do not have their injuries to seek at present, but tellingly, the majority of Rangers’ losses in that area are generally long term.

Very rarely do the club lose a player for a fortnight and that’s it, it’s always two months, four months, half a year, or, worryingly frequently, even longer.

So Lawrence is another one biting the dust for long enough, and we’ll just have to put up with it.

What else can we say?
