Rangers will need to turn up to the Europa League final with the ‘same mentality’ they have been for their clashes at Ibrox, according to Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst is set to lead his side out against Eintracht Frankfurt on 18th May as they go in search of their first piece of continental silverware since 1972.

What is the latest news involving Rangers?

The Gers saw off German giants Borussia Dortmund and Red Star Belgrade in the knockout round play-offs and the round of last 16 following impressive first-leg victories.

However, their progression in the quarter-final and semi-final stages against Sporting Braga and RB Leipzig were rather more nail-biting affairs.

Rangers fell to 1-0 defeats away from home in the opening encounter of both ties, leaving themselves plenty of work to do in the return fixture at Ibrox a week later.

Yet a 3-1 win over Braga after extra time was followed up by a result of the same scoreline in 90 minutes against Leipzig, ensuring their progression to the showpiece event.

And Rangers’ success in the Europa League has been partly down to the incredible support of their home fans, with Leipzig boss Domenico Tedesco admitting it was the ‘best atmosphere’ he’s experienced.

“It was electrifying. That was the best atmosphere I’ve experienced in a stadium so far. It was madness,” said the 36-year-old tactician. “The Ibrox atmosphere basically killed us.”

What has Bridge said about Rangers?

Bridge told GiveMeSport: “They have got every chance (of winning the Europa League). They’re playing a team who look like they’ve got some incredible support as well; that looked like a proper atmosphere out there.

“My only concern for Rangers is that they’ve done these, apart from the Dortmund game in fairness, it’s always been that kind of Ibrox second-leg atmosphere. This is a one-off game in Spain.

“I just hope they turn up with that same mentality like they’ve been doing at Ibrox where the stadium literally shakes.”

Can Rangers win the Europa League?

In a one-off game, anything can happen, and Rangers will surely be confident of pulling off a memorable victory when they take on Frankfurt in Sevilla’s Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium.

The Bundesliga outfit are lingering in the bottom half of their domestic table but have pulled off memorable results against Barcelona, West Ham and Real Betis to reach the final.

It’s set to be an enthralling night whatever the result, though, with both sets of supporters certain to make it an incredible atmosphere.
